Trekking
Trekking enthusiasts will find the Valsugana and the mountains around Lake Caldonazzo a true paradise. With an extensive network of well-marked trails, suitable for varying levels of difficulty, these mountains offer the opportunity to explore enchanting landscapes, from lush forests to alpine meadows bursting with flowers. Whether you are an experienced hiker or a beginner, you will find itineraries suited to your abilities here, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of these mountains.
There are plenty of walks in the surrounding area, both on the plains, a beautiful one along the lake, and in the hills. Among those in the hills, the most beautiful are the Tenna hill, the Santa Caterina farmsteads, Mount Cimone and the miners' track.
Among the easiest mountain hikes are the one to Lake Erdemolo, where a beautiful snowfield can be seen until early summer, the one to Pizzo di Levico with one of the most beautiful views in all of Trentino, and the Panarotta, which allows you to travel up to 1900 metres by car.
Some of the more challenging ones include the Becco di Filadonna in the Vigolana group, the Marzola that divides the lake from Trento, and the Lagorai high route that leads from the Sette Selle mountain hut to Lake Erdemolo with a hike in an unspoilt setting between 2000 and 2300 metres above sea level.
Mountain Biking
For those on two wheels, the mountains in Valsugana and around Lake Caldonazzo offer an ideal playground for mountain biking. With an abundance of dirt tracks and technical trails, these mountains provide an exciting challenge for bikers of all levels. From trail flows to challenging single tracks, you will have the opportunity to put your skills to the test and savour breathtaking views as you pedal through forests, meadows and peaks.
Departing from the campsite, you can follow a variety of routes from those on the plains, the Valsugana cycle path to Bassano to the various itineraries through the beautiful apple fields in April during the blossoming season.
In the hills, there is the beautiful Tenna Hill route that divides the two lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico, the Campregheri tour that goes from Calceranica to Caldonazzo by going around the hill, the high farmsteads of Santa Caterina.
Among the more challenging routes are the high Vigolana route, the Marzola route, the Valle dei Mocheni route, and the Val di Sella route. For those who prefer an even more demanding route, there is the Pizzo di Levico climb, the Panarotta climb and the 100 kilometres of forts.

Starting from Vetriolo is an excellent point to take advantage of the thermals that then lead to the summit, alternatively you can start from the summit itself. By following the thermals, you can travel along the Lagorai or simply sail around the mountain and then land in Barco in a very wide field.
The best times to fly are from April to the end of October.
